Monitoring and Diagnosis Algorithms for Synchronous Motor Drives
Otava, Lukáš ; Glasberger, Tomáš (referee) ; Lettl, Jiří (referee) ; Václavek, Pavel (advisor)
Permanent magnet synchronous machine drives are used more often. Although, synchronous machines drive also suffer from possible faults. This thesis is focused on the detection of the three-phase synchronous motor winding faults and the detection of the drive control loop sensors' faults. Firstly, a model of the faulty winding of the motor is presented. Effects of the inter-turn short fault were analyzed. The model was experimentally verified by fault emulation on the test bench with an industrial synchronous motor. Inter-turn short fault detection algorithms are summarized. Three existing conventional winding fault methods based on signal processing of the stator voltage and stator current residuals were verified. Three new winding fault detection methods were developed by the author. These methods use a modified motor model and the extended Kalman filter state estimator. Practical implementation of the algorithms on a microcontroller is described and experimental results show the performance of the presented algorithms in different scenarios on test bench measurements. Highly related motor control loop sensors fault detection algorithms are also described. These algorithms are complementary to winding fault algorithms. The decision mechanism integrates outputs of sensor and winding fault detection algorithms and provides an overall drive fault diagnosis concept.

Analysis Of Broken Rotor Bars Fault In Inverter Fed Induction Motor By Means Of Motor Current Signature Analysis And Stray Flux Of Motor
Chernyavska, Ielyzaveta
In this paper the analysis of effect of broken rotor bar fault in squirrel-cage induction motor fed by frequency converter is presented. The motor current signature analysis as well as stray flux of motor were used in order to verify the capability of these techniques to identify the presence of different types of investigated fault in case of different types of supply and load. There were measured 4-pole motors with different level of broken rotor bar fault under different loads. Obtained data is presented in the form of graphs and tables and the comparison of obtained results was carried out.

Interconnections discontinuities in electronic systems and signal integrity faults
Žilka, Zdeněk ; Berka, Zbyněk ; Braun, Jaromír
The paper deals with the influence of discontinuities in interconnecting traces, vias, pads, connectors, parasitics of the IC packages and all other passive interconnecting elements in multi-layer printed-circuit boards (PCB) and multichip modules (MCM) on the signal integrity (SI) of complex mixed-signal electronic system. Simple models, rules and guidelines suitable for human handling are introduced.
Interconnections in electronic systems and signal integrity faults
Žilka, Zdeněk ; Berka, Zbyněk ; Braun, Jaromír
Signal integrity can be verified before the availability of the actual produced system on its accurate virtual prototype (VP). In this paper simple models are described which are particularly useful when the design is amended after the VP verification failed.
Behavioral models of passive interconnecting elements in the multi-layer PCBs
Žilka, Zdeněk ; Braun, Jaromír ; Berka, Zbyněk
Design of current digital, analog and mixed-signal systems requires to use top-down methodology which is based on behavioral representation of circuit elements, where signal integrity faults may be isolated before the avaibility of the actual produced system. In the paper the behavioral models of interconnections are evaluated. The applicable models should conform to current standard - the IBIS specification.
